Bert Boerland, Drupaleer and employee at Dutch Open Projects [1], an Open Source implementor in the Netherlands has kindly invited us to take part in the Joomla/Drupal camp they are planning for this summer.
[2]
Bert explains the concept for the bootcamp on his blog [3] as follows :
From both communities a couple of dozen people can sign up and camp at our place for a weekend. During this weekend both have the assignment to make as many migration tools as possible to migrate from the dominant proprietary CMS-es in the Netherlands; GX [4], Greenvaley [5], Smartsite [6] and Tridion [7] towards their CMS. The one who does the most or best wins. And since all the migration code has to be GPL, the Open Source community at large wins as well!
Well Bert, we happily accept the challenge. Let us know the time and place and we will be there ! If you are interested to join us and help defend the Joomla! fame drop us a comment.
Oh and for the doubters among you, DOP is located in a beautiful villa close to the forest. They even have their own halfpipe swimming pool [8]. Bert promised it will be cleaned and ready for a first ever Open Source pool party. Fun guaranteed !
